Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot is an AI companion designed to assist users by providing information, answering questions, and engaging in conversation. With the release of Windows Update 23H2, there are some changes that users should expect to see on their computers.
Copilot with Data Protection does not access M365 files and data. Chat data is not saved, and chat data will not be available in any capacity to Microsoft or other large language models to train their AI tools against.
Available to: Students, Faculty, Staff with Windows 11 23H2 and later
Using Microsoft Copilot
To make the most of Microsoft Copilot, follow these steps:
- Sign In: Make sure you are signed into Microsoft Copilot. This is crucial for enabling Enterprise Data Protection.
- Look for the shield icon: Once you are signed in, look for a shield icon, this indicates that Enterprise Data Protection is enabled.

- Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask questions. Microsoft Copilot is designed to provide information and answer your questions to the best of its ability.
- Engage in Conversation: Feel free to engage in conversation with Microsoft Copilot. It’s designed to provide an engaging and interactive experience.
Accessing Microsoft Copilot
Here are the different locations where you can use Microsoft Copilot:
Windows Dock: Microsoft Copilot can be accessed directly from your Windows Dock. Simply look for the Copilot icon and click on it to start interacting.
Microsoft Edge: You can also use Microsoft Copilot within the Microsoft Edge browser. Just navigate to the Copilot website and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Copilot Website: If you prefer, you can use Microsoft Copilot directly from its website. Just open your preferred web browser, navigate to copilot.microsoft.com, and sign in with your MSOE account.
Remember to enable enterprise data protection. Look for the shield icon to confirm that Enterprise Data Protection is enabled
