Downtime Notice – MSOE IT has the following planned maintenance schedule. During this time, the following network resources or applications may be unavailable during the listed times. Please make note of this schedule and plan around it. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
November 15th - December 2nd – Mandatory Security Awareness Training
As part of the Information Technology department's efforts to secure MSOE systems and data, we are conducting security awareness training. This training will take less than 10 minutes and will cover ways to avoid email phishing.
Expect an email from "Infosec IQ" with a link to begin the training. MSOE login will NOT be required to complete this training, the link in the email is unique to you.
Starting November 19th – Major Windows Update on Outdated Laptops
Out of date computers will receive a major Windows feature release update to version 21H2 to maintain support compliance.
You will be automatically prompted to install this update. When prompted, please complete the update as soon as convenient and leave computer powered on during the update. Installing the update when prompted will avoid a forced reboot during an inconvenient time. This major update can take about 90 minutes to complete.
To check your current version:
Press the Windows key, search for “winver” and hit enter. The current version of Windows will be shown.
To check if update available (on or off campus):
Press the Windows key, search for “update” and hit enter.
If you encounter any issues outside of the listed maintenance window, please report it to the IT Helpdesk for assistance.
